When you see a Honda Accord for sale, you know you’re getting a great car, regardless of what year, trim, or options are included in that particular model. After all, Honda has had five decades to perfect its unique combination of dependability, ease of operation, simplicity of care, and high style. It’s easy to see why many drivers have become devoted fans of the Honda Accord.

While the range of trims offered by the 2024 Honda Accord lineup may seem familiar to hardcore Accord fans, drivers who are newer to the Honda family may be interested in the differences and updates between trims. There are a few changes in store for the 2024 model as well. Join us on a quick walk through the 2024 Honda Accord trims, from the LX to the Touring. We’ll take a look at which trims are the most economical and which have the most bells and whistles, comparing all of the details that can help you decide which Accord should go home with you.

Power and Performance Across the Trims

Honda has stirred the pot a bit when it comes to power and performance with its 2024 Accord lineup. The trims include familiar names: LX, EX, Sport, EX-L, Sport-L, and Touring. The difference is that only the LX and EX are strictly gasoline-powered. The Sport, EX-L, Sport-L, and Touring trims are powered by a hybrid powertrain. What does this mean for you as a driver? Let’s take a look at both options side by side to compare.

The traditional gasoline engine that powers the LX and EX trims is a 1.5L turbocharged inline-four that’s good for 192 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque. It has two drive modes: Normal and Economy. This may seem like a straightforward setup, but it has been an admirable source of power since 2018, receiving regular updates from Honda engineers for power and economy.

The hybrid models are equipped with a 2.0L Atkinson-cycle gasoline engine and two electric motors, producing a total of 204 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque. Four drive modes are available for these models, adding Sport and Individual modes, giving you extra pep and the ability to set your own handling parameters.

It’s important to note that this is not a plug-in hybrid model but one that recharges as you drive and moderates its electricity usage automatically depending on driving conditions. There’s no need to remember to plug it in, and it uses gasoline just like the rest of the lineup.

But how much will each model cost you at the pump? The Honda Accord has always had the reputation of being economical, and the 2024 model year is no exception. The LX and EX trims get an EPA-estimated 29 MPG in the city and 37 MPG on the highway, which is far from disappointing.[a]

Those who are looking to cut their fuel consumption but not quite ready to take the plunge into a plug-in hybrid or fully electric vehicle may appreciate the uncomplicated hybrid setup and its greater fuel economy. The Sport, Sport-L, and Touring trims get an EPA-estimated 46 MPG in the city and 41 MPG on the highway.[a] Honda notes that the EX-L trim offers an estimated 51 MPG in the city and 44 MPG on the highway.[a]

Standard Features for All Trims

Honda’s vehicle lineup is known for having just the right amount of standard features across the trims. Those who select the most budget-friendly trim, the LX, have a standard 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a seven-inch color touchscreen to help connect them to even more standard features, like Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The LX trim also includes automatic climate control, illuminated vanity mirrors for the front seats, illuminated steering wheel controls, and standard cloth seats with a folding rear seat back.

Also standard across the trims is the Honda Sensing suite of safety and driver assistance technologies. The 2024 Accord is outfitted with a lengthy list of equipment with 10 standard Honda Sensing features. This includes Forward Collision Warning, a Collision Mitigation Braking System, Adaptive Cruise Control, a Traffic Sign Recognition System, and Auto High-Beam Headlights.

Safety-sensitive drivers will be pleased to learn that even more Honda Sensing features are included on the higher trims. The EX and above receive a Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Monitor, while the Touring trim adds Low-Speed Braking Control.

While the LX is considered the most basic trim, we find it anything but basic. With all of the standard features that will help make your commute safe and enjoyable, the LX starts off the Accord’s lineup of fantastic options with a just-right blend of simplicity and convenience.

Step Up to Tech, Comfort, and Convenience

As you climb the trims, you unlock more and more features that make the 2024 Honda Accord even easier to live with. For instance, upgrading to the EX trim replaces the standard four-speaker audio system with an eight-speaker version. This sound system is standard on the Sport, EX-L, and Sport-L trims, as well. The top Touring trim has its own 12-speaker Bose Premium sound system. The EX trim also introduces a heated, 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat with two-way lumbar support and a dual-zone automatic climate control system, giving drivers a lot of extras.

Besides the extra fuel economy and horsepower of the hybrid powertrain, the Sport trim comes with additional technology as well. At this trim, the standard seven-inch touchscreen is replaced by a 12.3-inch version. Alexa Built-In is standard on all of the hybrid models, as well. While the Sport trim does not have heated front seats, it does still include a power-adjustable driver's seat, giving the most important person in the vehicle the best seat possible.

The EX-L trim brings back the heated driver and front passenger seats and adds quite a few goodies, like leather-trimmed upholstery, a power-adjustable passenger seat, and driver-side memory settings. Those looking for a sleeker, more thrilling Accord might consider the Sport-L trim. On top of everything the EX-L offers, this trim features sport pedals, a rear diffuser, and 19-inch wheels with black inserts, along with the mirrors, antenna, side sills, and decklid spoiler done in gloss black.

Upgrading to the top Touring trim offers access to some truly top-shelf features. The infotainment system gains Google Built-In, and a six-inch Head-Up Display allows you to focus on the road while still getting important updates about your vehicle. Furthermore, comfort is the top priority in the 2024 Honda Accord Touring trim, with power-adjustable, heated, and ventilated front seats. Even the rear outboard passengers can enjoy heated seats.
