Compact cars are known for many things, such as nimble handling, good fuel economy, and affordable price tags. However, while a 2025 Honda Civic for sale certainly checks all of those boxes, it also surprises many drivers with just how luxurious it can be. After its most recent refresh for the new model year, the Civic sports an attractive design inside and out that belies its position as Honda's most affordable model. While the base trim still mostly sticks to the basics, the higher trims are loaded with luxuries every bit the equal to what you will find in larger and more expensive vehicles. But let's take a closer look at exactly what the 2025 Civic brings to the table for drivers who are looking to get the most out of their compact car.

Four Levels of Available Features

For 2025, the Civic has a reworked lineup that consists of four trims for the Civic Sedan and three trims for the Civic Hatchback. The entry-level LX (which is not available for the Civic Hatchback) and Sport trims are powered by a traditional gasoline engine, while the better-equipped Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid trims come with the Civic's all-new hybrid powertrain. Unlike other manufacturers, Honda does not require buyers to add additional packages and options to drive off in a fully-equipped model—each trim comes with a comprehensive selection of features that makes it a complete package right out of the box.

If you opt for the base LX or Sport trims, the 2025 Civic is a solidly equipped car with all the basic safety and connectivity features drivers look for. It even has some thoughtful luxury features, such as standard push-button start and single-zone automatic climate control, although these trims are more focused on affordability than high-end comforts. But when you start upgrading to the higher trims, the Civic rapidly becomes a very well-appointed vehicle while maintaining an extremely approachable price tag.

The higher trims go even further with a selection of high-end features designed to enhance comfort and convenience on the road. For instance, dual-zone automatic climate control is standard on the Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid, letting you and your front passenger individually set your preferred temperature. Smart Entry with Walk Away Auto Lock is also introduced on the Sport trim, which allows you to unlock the doors simply by touching the handles and will then automatically lock the doors when you walk away from the vehicle. A one-touch power moonroof is also available for the Civic, providing fresh air and light at the touch of a button.

Relaxing in Comfort

Premium leather furnishings have long been a mark of a luxury vehicle, but you will have to look long and hard to find them in the compact car segment these days. Most manufacturers have turned to synthetic leathers to cut costs, even in larger and more expensive vehicles. A quick look at the compact cars on the market will reveal that the Toyota Corolla comes with SofTex synthetic leather, the Nissan Sentra sports TailorFit leatherette, and the Kia K4 offers SynTex upholstery. However, Honda stands out for offering genuine leather seats in the Civic Sport Touring Hybrid, along with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob in the middle Sport and Sport Hybrid trims. The result is a plush and traditional luxury experience.

Honda also made sure to offer supportive Body Stabilizing seats to help reduce fatigue, with eight-way power-adjustment for the driver and four-way power-adjustment for the front passenger. Heated front seats are standard for both the Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid trims. You might note that this doesn't quite match the midsize Honda Accord, which offers a 10-way driver's seat with memory settings, ventilated front seats, and heated rear seats.

Hopefully, Honda will bring these additional luxury features to the Civic in future model years, but for now, the Civic's seating is a notch above what you will find in many competing compact models.

Turn Up the Music

Honda has long stood out for ensuring that its vehicles have some remarkable sound systems available, and the audio options for the 2025 Civic are a real highlight. The budget-oriented LX trim comes with a four-speaker 160-watt system that is fairly typical for this segment, but the middle Sport and Sport Hybrid trims handily outperform other compact cars with their eight-speaker sound systems. The Nissan Sentra, for instance, only offers six speakers even in its highest trim. Having eight speakers in an approachable option like the Civic Sport really shows how Honda has raised the bar for the compact segment.

However, Honda doesn't stop there and outfits the top Sport Touring Hybrid trim with an incredible 12-speaker Bose sound system. This is a far more comprehensive audio setup than you will find in most competing models. For instance, the Subaru Impreza tops out with a 10-speaker sound system, and the Toyota Corolla maxes out at just nine speakers. In fact, the 12-speaker Bose sound system in the Civic is the same sound system that Honda installs in larger models like the Accord, CR-V, and Pilot. You don't need to pay more for a larger vehicle to enjoy a top-notch sound system if you opt for the Honda Civic.

Raising the Bar for Technology

Advanced technology is increasingly a luxury in automobiles, and Honda has made sure to equip the 2025 Civic with some exceptional tech features to make every drive just a bit more convenient. The three lower trims all come standard with a pair of seven-inch digital displays for the driver instrument cluster and central infotainment center, with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a pair of USB-C ports for easy connectivity. However, the top Sport Touring Hybrid comes with an exclusive set of enhanced tech features that take onboard connectivity to the next level and really make the Civic stand out to drivers looking for a modern compact car.

Instead of the seven-inch displays from the lower trims, the Sport Touring Hybrid receives a 10.2-inch instrument cluster display and a nine-inch infotainment touchscreen. For comparison, the Toyota Corolla and Mazda3 only have seven-inch digital instrument clusters in their top trims. However, the hardware is less important than the software that comes with it. Not only does the top-trim Civic come with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but it also includes Google Built-In. If you're not familiar with this cutting-edge piece of software, Google Built-In allows you to access Google Assistant, Google Maps, Google Play, and other apps directly from the car's infotainment center without having to connect your phone. It's truly the next generation of in-car technology.

Ride in Style and Save

All too often, compact cars have been regarded as a budget option that anyone with money to spare should skip over in favor of something a bit larger. However, the 2025 Honda Civic demonstrates that this doesn't have to be the case. With its large selection of both traditional luxury features and cutting-edge technologies, the Civic offers shoppers a premium ride without the high price tag associated with larger models. Plus, thanks to its compact footprint, you still get to enjoy excellent fuel economy and nimble handling to go with its comfortable interior and array of conveniences.
